The Process
The process for bespoke made to order pieces begins with some simple conversations about the functions and use case of a piece, along with your initial vision and inspiration. Ideas, concepts, dimensions, materials, and more are discussed, until a more clear picture develops of the potential project at hand. We believe that a more educated buyer will ultimately lead to a happier buyer, so we will do everything we can to explain different options and costs during this phase, to help set expectations and deliver better results.
We can then begin working out a realistic timeline for the rest of the stages (including production and delivery) and create different quotes based upon different options you choose. More refined sketches and/or technical drawings may be provided here. Once this is agreed to we can schedule payment (a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to begin work, and production and materials procurement will not begin until this has been received). Any quotes generated will include materials, fabrication, and delivery. After a quote has been generated and deposit paid, your final price will not change, unless you wish to alter the piece before or during production making it different than what was agreed upon (such as changing size or scope of work, which may account for increased materials and/or labor cost, which is what would account for any cost difference). If there is any notable change requested that would alter your initial quoted amount, we will notify you immediately.
Work begins then after deposit is paid in full and materials are ordered as necessary. During production we will try to keep you abreast of any developments and progress. To view something during production (or if there are options that need to be seen in person during the process) you are welcome to schedule an appointment to visit the workshop. After the work is finished we can schedule delivery (at which point the final half of payment is due).
Aftercare, Maintenance, and Continued Relationships
Natural wood and leather will generally patina over time and gain a rich luster with daily use, and proper maintenance, nourishment, and care is essential to their long term health. Everything we create is designed and built to last, and we will walk you through routine and long term maintenance and care of your pieces. We believe in establishing and maintaining a healthy relationship with our clients so that we may continue to best serve their needs in the future, whether that is maintenance or creating new and exciting additions to their spaces and lifestyle.
