Our Knife’s Edge Collection is fully Made to Order, and each piece in this collection is handmade, but features more texture than our normal pieces, in that we intentionally leave some of the chisel, shaping knife, and carving marks prominently featured, rather than shaping them into the more smoothly contoured and finished forms in our other collections. From seating to tables to beds and cased storage, the Knife’s Edge Collection can be designed and built to fit a wide variety of options. The rustic simplicity allows the textures created throughout the hand carving process to really shine through and be featured as a design element.
Like all of our pieces, they are constructed from solid hardwood, with a hand rubbed plant-based hardwax oil finish that is VOC-free, meaning there are no harmful volatile organic compounds present, and it is LEED verified. This European style hand rubbed finish offers a natural and subtle soft matte or satin finish, allowing you to feel and smell the natural state of the wood itself.
Each piece in our Knife’s Edge Collection is fully designed and built to specification in our studio in Chicago, and lead times are usually 4-6 weeks from order to completion.
